SV Microwave’s attenuators are quality RF and microwave components engineered to reduce power without compromising signal integrity. Supporting a wide frequency range of up to 40 GHz and available in various attenuation (dB) values, these attenuators are ideal for telecommunications, aerospace, and defense applications. With exceptional performance and compatibility with different connectors, SV Microwave attenuators provide dependable solutions for effective power management in diverse microwave systems.
2.92mm: Capable of up to 32 GHz at 2 Watts (M3933/30) or 40 GHz at 0.5 Watts (SF0915-6200), the 2.92mm interface intermates with SMA and 3.5mm interfaces, but outperforms them both. Attenuators are essential in satellite systems to manage signal strength, reduce noise, protect amplifiers, and ensure stable communication, especially in challenging environmental conditions, like those found in Space. SV has extensive experience in satellite and ground-based communications, and has long developed attenuators that are used in this application.
SMA: Short for SubMiniature version A, SMA connectors feature a threaded interface and are designed for 50-ohm impedance, capable of frequencies up to 18 GHz at 2 Watts. SV Microwave has had decades of SMA sales worldwide, including use in space applications. SV Microwave has been on the DLA Qualified Products List (QPL) for M39012 SMA slash sheets since 1975 and M3933 SMA attenuators since 1986. SMA is an extremely common interface and intermates with 3.5/2.92mm M3933/14, 16, 25, and SF0929-6200. Known for excellent electrical performance, these precision subminiature units offer a compact and mechanically durable option.
SMP: Created to meet demands for a compact, high-frequency design, the SMP connector combines ease of use with functionality. SV Microwave's SMP attenuators include Space Attenuators designed to fine-tune RF power levels in satellite microwave circuits. They support frequencies up to 40 GHz and come in various attenuation values.
SV Microwave attenuators cover an extensive frequency range from DC to 40 GHz, making them suitable for a variety of applications. The attenuation stays flat to the maximum frequency of use. Whether used at low frequencies for communications systems or in the higher frequencies of the Ka or Ku band for RADAR applications, SV has developed distinct COTS attenuator product lines that are available with distribution.
Push-On: Also known as blind-mate coupling, this style is ideal for multiport applications and frequent mating cycles. However, insertion loss could be a concern in applications where mating may be disturbed.
Threaded: With a twist-on coupling nut, this style provides a stable connection, ideal for high-vibration and challenging environments. Its secure design supports higher frequency performance by maintaining connection integrity even in harsh conditions.
